Bootea workout review

As someone who loves working-out, but suffer's with chronic illness & chronic fatigue that coffee just won't touch, i decided to invest in a BCAA (branched chain, amino acids).
There are many BCAA's on the market, but many do contain lots of artificial ingredients, so being health-concious i wanted something as close to natural as possible.
So when I stumbled upon the BOOTEA Pre workout i decided to give it a shot.

Pre workouts contain BCAA'S which contain amino acids, creatine, vitamins, minerals and caffeine which is designed to give you a boost, improve your physical performance and help you reach your fitness goals faster, and also aid in muscle recovery.

The pre workout from BOOTEA contains:

creatine
Creatine has been shown to improve athletic perform and increase stamina during your workout.
It also helps in muscle growth and muscle recovery.

Beta alanine
Beta alanine is a naturally occurring Amino acid, it helps boost muscular performance, and increase endurance.

L-citrulline DL-malate
L-citrulline DL-malate combines two parts L-citrulline, a non-essential amino acid active in the urea cycle with one part DL-malic acid.
It helps to prevent muscle fatigue during intense exercise.

L-Arganine
is a powerful neurotransmitter that helps blood vessels relax and improves circulation.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine
Is naturally produced in a healthy body.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine helps supply energy to the brain which is why it is often used to treat a variety of mental disorders including Depression, Alzheimer's, memory loss, and thinking problems related to lyme disease.
It also helps to improve in physical performance and burn more fat.

Natural Caffeine
It doesn't say where the 'natural caffeine' source is coming from so it could be from a number of sources including, tea, yerba maté, guarana berries, guayusa, and the yaupon holly.
I don't think it could be from coffee or cocoa as it would be prominent in the taste.

Vitamin C
I'm sure you'll recognise this one, vitamin C is an essential vitamin, which helps with a number of things including necessary growth and repair, immune system, energy, collagen production, healing and skin and bone health.

Vitamin B3
An essential vitamin which helps convert food into fuel.

Vitamin B6
Like all B vitamins it plays an important role in physical and pysochological functions.
Vitamin B6 is primarily used to help maintain a healthy metabolism, nerve function, liver function, skin health, eye health, as well as help to boost energy levels.

Vitamin B12
Helps with cardiovascular support, normal metabolic function and reduce fatigue and increase energy levels.

Folic Acid
Helps the body improve and maintain new cells, particularly red blood cells.

The taste
I got it in the Lime flavour, there was also an orange flavour.
The taste is definitely not bad, but its nothing special either, however i'm not exactly drinking it for flavour and it only contains 24 calories so its not going to compromise my diet.
Its more of an artificial lime flavour very sour, so if you like sour sweets then you may find it enjoyable.

Performance wise
I have definitely found it improved my performance and energy levels whilst working-out much more so than my usual coffee.
It contains 200mg of caffeine from a natural source, so along with the amino acids its a great boost.
I drink mine before and during my workout so i don't get too fatigued.
The boost also seems to last a few hours after my workout, so i wouldn't recommend you drink too close to bedtime.
I also found that my muscles are less sore the day after my workout, which is a bonus.

cons
Not really a con however BCAA'S cause a sort of tingling itching sensation throughout your body, which is a little strange, its not an allergic reaction, apparently its normal with BCAA'S, but this will subside with continued use as your body gets used to the amount of caffeine, and if your a regular high caffeine consumer then this probably won't affect you, it only happened to me the first couple of times, but its nothing painful and not even uncomfortable really.

Price
It is rather pricey at £22 however i think this is a standard price for BCAA'S and protein shakes etc, and it does last a long time.
So overall I would definitely purchase again and recommend to anyone who wants to push their performance at the gym, especially if you suffer with chronic illness and fatigue as the drink itself is full of nutrients that may help with some of your symptoms of malaise that can occur after exercise.

Hope you liked this review, let me know your thoughts?
have you tried BOOTEA pre-workout? do you use a BCAA?

Have a great Day!
