Why can't life be like a Hallmark movie?

So its that time of year again, when spending chilly nights by the fire curled up in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa, and watching christmas movies feel's like heaven.
I've been watching a lot of christmas movies lately, more specifically hallmark movies.
I know I like to start early, but Christmas is just my favourite time of year, the decorations, the food the parties, it just feels so magical, especially when watching a hallmark movie.
There so heartwarming and comforting and make you feel so motivated, to be kind to others, and follow your dreams.

But when you switch of the TV and get back to your daily life you realise just how far from reality Hallmark movies really are.
You know how they go they start of with a character who seems to be down on their luck, a struggling parent, an unlucky in love singleton, are grieving, or have an estranged family.
You relate to them at first because lets face it we all have problems.
But as the movie progresses the character seems to have got themselves a fairy godmother, they end up landing their dream job or meeting mr right, and they all live happily ever after, even the cynical or mean characters end up having a heart deep down inside.

They seem to just get what they want in life because of hard work and kindness, granted they are great attributes and they help, but how many people do you know who are successful because of these things?
We all know its not what you know its 'who you know' unluckily for us!

And I can't write this post without mentioning the perfect Gentlemen in the movies their always dashingly Handsome, charming, successful, sensitive and true romantics, even if they don't start out this way, they end up this way.
How many men in real life are actually like this because i don't know any, my boyfriends a good guy most of the time, but he ain't Hallmark worthy!
Who is?!
The guys in these movies are so romantic and loving and you never see any pervy, immature boys like they all seem to be in this day and age, and in my opinion all men seem to care about is whats in their pants and satisfying it!
I feel like these movies set us girls up for disaster.
I don't know about you, but i watch these movies and feel like thats what the perfect boyfriend should be like, and i'm sure other girls do too, who knows maybe i'm just too nieve and innocent but i hope to believe these men exist.
And then you go out into the big wide world and you don't find any of this.
Where do you find these sweet sensitive romantic gentlemen if you find any let me know?!

And can i just mention the perfect Towns they live in there so cute and charming like something out of a storybook, they have the quaint coffee shop, who's owner is of course sweet and chipper.
And the christmas decorations are just out of this world, its like a christmas disneyland.
And if they don't live in one of these 'perfect little towns' then they live in an amazing city like New York or Chicago, with their picture perfect apartment and pinterest worthy decor, despite the fact the main character is supposed to be struggling for cash!
Notice a theme here everything is just fricken 'Perfect'.

I know i sound like i'm bashing these movies now, but i'm honestly not I love them!, I just feel like those of us idealistic dreamers maybe expect life to be this way or at least our Christmas's.
When in reality its just not well realistic.
Nothings perfect, life is far from perfect and even those who seem like they have a perfect life still don't have a perfect life!
Sure some have it easier but the grass isn't always as green as you may think.

These movies are wonderful and festive and make for great entertainment and they should leave you with a good message to be kind and compassionate towards others, and always try to be the best version of yourself, but we can't always expect to be repaid for that.
We can't expect life will fall in to place and we'll meet mr right, because that will never happen, life is hard and constantly throws us curveballs, but we get back up and keep on going, because the little happy moments in life like watching a christmas movie, and spending time with loves ones even if their not 'perfect' is what keeps us going.

So all in all Hallmark Movies are just that 'movies' a dream, entertainment and aren't meant to be realistic and thats what makes them so satisfying.
So sit back and enjoy those movies but don't get down on yourself for not having a movie character life!

Hope you liked this lil post, I really enjoyed writing it!

Let me know your thoughts? What are your favourite Hallmark/Christmas movies?
Let me know if you'd like any recommendations and let me know of any good ones to watch if I haven't already watched em all haha!

Have a great Day and wonderful christmas!
